We are theliving heritage.

Empowering Leaders · Building Peace · Shaping the Future

IPYG Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Malaysia and Atlanta are joining forces: one Leadership Class built on YEPC, the Youth Empowerment Peace Class, IPYG's official education programme running in over 57 countries. Four online sessions around one idea that carries everything: heritage as the foundation of identity, dialogue and peace. Join and you become part of a global network spanning education, civil society, faith communities and business.

Youth will come to realise that the most vital link between the past and the future is people themselves, and ultimately, the kind of leaders they choose to become.

What it all builds on

A quiet crisis: heritage is being lost.

The world has never been more connected, and yet division and mistrust keep rising. Beneath them lies a quieter loss: the erosion of heritage, cultural, religious and social. When heritage weakens, so does the foundation for trust and cohesion. The reverse holds too: studies across Europe show that young people connected to their cultural heritage have higher self-esteem, better wellbeing and stronger social bonds.

This is exactly where the programme steps in. Every trained leader has a multiplier effect, reaching students, families, communities and networks. Participants become IPYG Peace Ambassadors, carrying these values into the spaces where young people actually grow, learn and belong.

Who can join?

For everyone shaping young people. And for you.

The programme is aimed at the people around whom young people grow up, learn and get involved. And it is open to everyone who wants to develop their own leadership potential.

·03Looking back · Run 1

The first run is done. And it worked.

Around 50 young people from six countries, one shared online space, and weeks in which strangers turned into people who talk to each other. The feedback was consistently positive, so we are going straight into round two.

IPYG Germany, in cooperation with IPYG Czech Republic and IPYG Austria.

What the participants said.

Voices from the first run. First names only, because interreligious engagement is not safely public everywhere.

Really a lot of input.
Johannes
Islam already revealed most of the things about the world.
Abu Bakar
Learning about other religions does not mean changing or weakening your beliefs. It helps us understand different cultures and perspectives, reduces stereotypes and misunderstandings, and encourages mutual respect.
Yumna
Differences can cause conflicts, but the real question is how we respond to those conflicts. We should find a common goal to achieve peace. People misuse religion to start conflicts. It is the people, not the religion.
Nicolas
Thank you for your efforts!
Kareem
Thank you all for this wonderful journey. Wishing everyone continued success in promoting peace!
Yumna

The programme was held in English, so the quotes are kept exactly as they were spoken.

Fun facts

Six things you probably did not know.

Small truths about IPYG that never make it into the official copy.

  • 01 · Fun Fact

    It all started in Seoul

IPYG was founded in South Korea in 2013. Headquarters are still there; the movement itself is long since everywhere.

  • 02 · Fun Fact

    One curriculum, 57+ countries

The Youth Empowerment Peace Class is taught on every continent, with the same foundations and entirely local examples.

  • 03 · Fun Fact

    18 September is our holiday

Every year on the same date, young peace leaders from around the world gather at the World Peace Summit in Korea.

  • 04 · Fun Fact

    German is entirely enough

Our leadership class runs in German, together with IPYG Germany. English helps with the international network, but it is not required.

  • 05 · Fun Fact

Five ✌️ are hidden on this site

Scattered across the whole IPYG site. Find them all and you get confetti. That is all we are saying.

  • 06 · Fun Fact

Vienna is not a random choice

A UN seat, a hinge between east and west, and one of the youngest and most diverse populations in Europe. Hard to find a better testing ground for peace work.
